After
traveling to many tournaments throughout the summer, it seemed
as if the Devils needed some time to rest up. The only problem
was that the fall league would kickoff only three weeks after
their summer tournament schedule concluded. Throughout the
entire fall season, the Devils played without a full roster
due to injuries and prior commitments. In several games the
Devils played with only 8 or 9 players and still came out
victorious.
After
finishing the regular season with a 10-0 record for the second
straight season and the only team to do so in Youngstown league
history, the Devils went into the playoffs ready to claim their
8th straight league title and inch closer to their 50th straight
league win. As defending champs, the Devils seem to get every
teams best effort and this proved to be the case in the playoffs
as they defeated both Youngstown Sports Grille and In-Between
Lounge in two tough games. The Devils would then meet up with
Breeze Auto, a rematch of the championship game last spring.
This game would prove to be no different than the last as the
defense allowed only one scoring drive and the offense took
care of the rest as the Devils claimed the league title once
again.
